So, where does that leave us with our so-called "miracle"? Not far. It's that simple. And sad, I might add. We worked over the summer pulling millions (no exaggeration!) of nails, cut out new framing for a couple of doors, hooked up the electric, cleaned out the basement full of ashes/insulation/debris, and stripped the mudroom of all the paneling on its walls...in order to add new insulation and wiring. All necessary things...but not big impact items that makes our progress really look visible. I'm so ready for big visible accomplishments!
We did NOT get siding on the house last Fall. Sadly. But we are considering/looking at ordering the siding and window trim within the next week, and then hope and pray for a nice Thanksgiving weekend to start installation. The poor house has sat for at least 2 winters with just the wrap on it. Not good. I fear we will have to re-wrap the house if we do not get the siding on before winter hits again this year.
The lesson I am continually learning in my life is...just when you set your own schedule or agenda, something will come along to distract you or take you away from your planned course of action. I have truly learned that "it will happen when it happens" and I will continue to be happy and content with where I am until the day comes that I may move into this miracle house of ours. Forever (not kidding).
So say a prayer for great Thanksgiving weekend weather, please?!
